AJIMOBI AND THE TALE OF THREE 'KONGOS' OF RICE

In what appeared to be a saddening and shocking development, the Governor of Oyo State, Gov. Abiola Ajimobi continues to be a disappointment to the entire workforce of the State. He is apparently unconcerned about the poor economic state experience by the Civil Servants being owed over 7 months salaries and he shows this at the slightest opportunities.

And so I heard that some set of civil servants who have been working with the Governor despite the labor strike action were appreciated with what could be termed a shocking and unbelievable gesture.

Since the commencement of the strike action, I learnt that the governor ordered the civil servants who include the Governor's protocol officers, Administrative officers, Personal Assistants, Secretaries and clerks to always sign the time sheet each time they attend work during this strike period.

Yesterday, the governor said he needed to appreciate the hardworking staff and he ordered that they should be given '3kongos' of rice each. This came as a rude shock to some of the staff who felt it was belittling and they rejected the gesture outrightly.

From recent experience, the workers recalled that past governors appreciate them more than just 3kongos of rice. They lamented that the governor seems unconcerned about their plights after he left them hungry. Presently, the governor is owing the State's civil servants over 7month salaries.
