The indigenous people of Saki Community, Saki West Local Government area of Oyo State witnessed the commencement of the 2016 "Egúngún" festival yesterday at key places in the town such as Ìgboro area, Kínníkínní area,Iyáa area, Igbó-olóògun area, Mókólá area and many more.
The annual festival is known for its unity,oneness and uniqueness in spite of religion faiths and beliefs.
The Festival was witnessed by thousands of residents who reside at the key community areas where stationed due to its uniqueness.
As early as 12:00pm , the smaller masquerades took to the streets of the community areas to signal the beginning of the 2016 Egúngún Festival.
Spectators trooped from different houses and places of the town,busy watching the masquerades as the performed.
Salam Saheed, a famous Reporter, gathered that a good number of the young and old took part in the kick-off of the Egúngún festival yesterday. The stature of Egunguns like 'Lanróyè, Dánáfojúrà' and similar others came out yesterday. Others expected to come out today are "Siaba, Alagbo and many others.
