HELPING HANDS INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION EMPOWERS WIDOWS IN OYO TOWN

An empowerment-based-membership organization founded out of the passion for total human capacity development and for helping the less privileged,  Helping Hands International (H2i), last week took its crusade to the widows  in Oyo town.

The Oyo Zone arm of the organization under the able leadership of Mr. Sangodare Edward Oyedeji,  Master Sangodare Elisha and Mr. Salawudeen Kamarudeen organized a two-day skills programme for widows in Oyo and environs under umbrella of Widowhood and Livelihood Organization of Nigeria, Oyo chapter.

In an interview granted by the Coordinator of  H2i, Oyo Zone, Mr. Sangodare, he lamented about the level of poverty in society and explained that it was one of the reasons why the organization decided to train and empower the widows.

The two-day skills acquisition programme which started on Friday, 26th May, 2017 and ended on 27th May, 2017 featured practical training sessions on disinfectants and soap making.

An apparently overwhelmed Mrs. Salami Benedicta who doubled as a participant and the widows' coordinator expressed her sincere appreciation to the organizers of the programme. In her words, Mrs Salami said "I pray for the organizers of this programme. May they continue to be favoured. I admonish other organizations to emulate this bold step to empower widows and alleviate poverty in the society taken by H2i.
