In the early hours of today at about 1am, an unidentified man was caught by members of the vigilante group in Atingisi Area of Akeetan Titun in Oyo town.
The culprit who later escaped from the security men allegedly went into the store of a food seller in the area. The food seller, popularly known as Iya Ibadan, had a store where she normally keep her prepared stew and food against the following day.
The man, after observing that all were sleeping, went to the store and opened the lock. Thinking the prepared stew contained meat too, he carried the pot of stew and was already on the run when he was caught.
After serious beatings from the security guards, he was pitied and efforts were being made to hand him over to the police when he allegedly took to his heels and escaped.
As at the time of this report, his identity and location remains unknown.
